CNC vertical drilling machine

ZK5140B CNC Vertical Drilling Machine

A 40 mm CNC drill built on a vertical machining centre bed and saddle. Three servo axes over 850 × 400 × 240 mm, a full gear spindle box at 350 N·m, and a table that sits low enough to load by hand.

ZK5140B cnc vertical drilling machine

Features

  • The base castings are special cast iron, using the bed and saddle from the vertical machining centre build. The table sits lower to the floor than on a conventional drill, which makes loading and unloading easier.
  • Guideways and table are quenched and ground and run against plastic-faced liners with automatic intermittent lubrication, so feed stays smooth without stick-slip.
  • X and Y axes are ballscrew driven with the motor coupled direct to the screw.
  • High coolant flow and a wide chip slot keep heavy cutting clear.
  • GSK 980MDi control, or an M5800 control from Taiwan.
  • All three axes and the spindle run under servo control.
  • Spindle box is full gear transmission with 350 N·m of spindle torque, and can be raised and lowered by hand.

Questions Engineers Ask About The ZK5140B

What material are the ZK5140B capacity ratings quoted in?

Capacity figures are quoted in steel — Φ40 / Φ50 / Φ63 / Φ80 mm on the ZK5140B. Keep a working margin over your biggest regular hole rather than running the spindle at its limit all day: a machine bought at the limit wears its accuracy off first. In cast iron the same spindle works easier; in stainless, harder.

Why does the ZK5140B’s speed range matter more than its top speed?

The ZK5140B runs stated per model r/min on a 4# / 5# / 5# / 6# spindle taper. Big holes in tough material live at the bottom of the range where torque works; small holes want the top. A machine that covers both ends handles the whole job list instead of half of it.

Why does the ZK5140B hold its geometry under real work?

Two build points matter most on this machine: the base castings are special cast iron, using the bed and saddle from the vertical machining centre build. the table sits lower to the floor than on a conventional drill, which makes loading and unloading easier; and guideways and table are quenched and ground and run against plastic-faced liners with automatic intermittent lubrication, so feed stays smooth without stick-slip. Structure decides how a machine ages — the specification table tells you what it does new, the build tells you what it does in year five.

How do I choose between the ZK5140B and the ZXK50?

Both sit in the cNC vertical drilling machine group, so the decision is capacity and duty, not kind: put your largest part dimensions, material and yearly quantity against each specification table and one of the two will run out of a figure first. Send the drawing and we will name which of the two fits — including the case where the smaller machine does the job.

What evidence comes with the ZK5140B that it meets spec?

Every ZK5140B is laser-measured to ISO 230-2 over its travels, cuts a test piece that is measured rather than admired, and ships with a serial-numbered report carrying the measured values. If any line misses, the machine goes back into the shop until it passes — the report is a record, not a promise.
