Heavy horizontal CNC lathe
C61200A Heavy CNC Lathe
A heavy horizontal lathe with CNC capability but inspected to conventional-lathe accuracy standards. Longitudinal and cross drives are separated, and the control is KND or Siemens 808D. It turns outside and inside diameters, faces, cones, arcs and threads, and does grooving and parting on shaft and disc work. The bed carries two or three integral ways, medium-frequency hardened, with a steel-inlaid option; the headstock runs a through-shaft on two short bearings; the frame-type tool post carries two vertical tool plates that retract freely; the feed box uses twin-gear backlash elimination. The tailstock is split upper and lower with the sleeve clamped automatically, and the machine has a wide walkway for the operator. Twin tool posts, milling-boring, grinding and coolant attachments are available to order, as are open and closed steady rests.

Model FAQs
Questions Engineers Ask About The C61200A
Is the C61200A’s 1250, 1600, 2000, 2500 mm swing the real working diameter?
Swing over bed is clearance — twice the distance from spindle centreline to the bed ways — not the working limit. Quote your largest finished diameter plus workholding, and check it against that second number, not the headline swing.
What spindle speeds does the C61200A run, and why does the range matter?
The catalogued range is 1–180 / 1–160 / 1–160 / 1–160 r/min. The span matters more than the top figure: large diameters and tough materials live at the low end where torque does the work, while small-diameter finishing wants the top end. A range that covers both ends is what lets one machine carry mixed work.
Why does the C61200A hold its geometry under real work?
Two build points matter most on this machine: two- or three-way integral bed, medium-frequency hardened, steel-inlaid optional; and through-shaft headstock on twin short bearings. Structure decides how a machine ages — the specification table tells you what it does new, the build tells you what it does in year five.
C61200A or CAK61100B-CAK61125B-CAK61140B-CAK61160B — which fits my work?
Both sit in the heavy horizontal CNC lathe group, so the decision is capacity and duty, not kind: put your largest part dimensions, material and yearly quantity against each specification table and one of the two will run out of a figure first. Send the drawing and we will name which of the two fits — including the case where the smaller machine does the job.
What acceptance testing does the C61200A go through?
Every C61200A is laser-measured to ISO 230-2 over its travels, cuts a test piece that is measured rather than admired, and ships with a serial-numbered report carrying the measured values. If any line misses, the machine goes back into the shop until it passes — the report is a record, not a promise.
