Boring and milling machine

TK68 / TK65 Series Boring and Milling Machine

Six frames with a rotary table on a large slewing bearing, indexing to any angle through 360° at 0.001°. Tables of 1600 × 2000 and 2500 × 2500 mm carrying 10 t and 20 t, boring axes of Φ130 and Φ160 mm, and spindle speeds to 3000 rpm.

TK68 / TK65 Series boring and milling machine

Features

  • T-form bed layout, high rigidity, multiple supports.
  • Composite guideway with an unloading device on each way; heavy roller linear guides can be fitted instead.
  • Column guideway on the bed ground over its full length.
  • Steel wire rope counterweight balance, with the balance lifting point set out of the usual position.
  • Fully enclosed headstock.
  • Y axis on nut rotation, on travels over 3000 mm.
  • Each feed axis driven by a preloaded double-nut ball screw.
  • Main gearbox and square ram feed together, which is what gives the combination of speed, low noise and torque.
  • TK68 square ram fully boxed on four faces, with a compensation mechanism.
  • Table carried on a large slewing bearing.
  • Ground large-diameter gear ring.
  • Hydraulic holding brake.
  • Twin-pinion drive with backlash take-up, either twin-motor twin-pinion or single-motor twin-pinion.
  • Indexing to any angle through 360°.
  • High pressure through-spindle coolant.
  • Tool magazine with automatic tool change.
  • Automatic pick-up and automatic indexing attachment heads.
  • Built with or without a fixed facing head, and paired head-to-head where the work calls for it.

Questions Engineers Ask About The TK68 / TK65 Series

Can the TK68 / TK65 Series machine all four faces of a housing in one clamping?

That is what the rotary table is for: index the part 90° and the TK68 / TK65 Series reaches the next face without the datum moving, so bore-to-bore alignment across faces survives. Table capacity is stated on the table mm — check it against part plus fixture, and put the heavy datum face down.

What is built into the TK68 / TK65 Series that keeps it accurate?

Two build points matter most on this machine: t-form bed layout, high rigidity, multiple supports; and composite guideway with an unloading device on each way; heavy roller linear guides can be fitted instead. Structure decides how a machine ages — the specification table tells you what it does new, the build tells you what it does in year five.

What separates the TK68 / TK65 Series from the TK69 Series in this group?

Both sit in the boring and milling machine group, so the decision is capacity and duty, not kind: put your largest part dimensions, material and yearly quantity against each specification table and one of the two will run out of a figure first. Send the drawing and we will name which of the two fits — including the case where the smaller machine does the job.

How is a new TK68 / TK65 Series proven before it ships?

Every machine in the TK68 / TK65 Series range is laser-measured to ISO 230-2 over its travels, cuts a test piece that is measured rather than admired, and ships with a serial-numbered report carrying the measured values. If any line misses, the machine goes back into the shop until it passes — the report is a record, not a promise.
