Universal cylindrical grinding machine

M14 Series Universal Cylindrical Grinding Machine

Five frames grinding 5 mm to 630 mm diameter over lengths of 500 mm to 5000 mm. The wheelhead swivels ±8° and the workhead +90°, and every frame carries an internal grinding attachment, so external, internal and taper work run on one machine.

Questions Engineers Ask About The M14 Series

Why does the M14 Series hold its geometry under real work?

Two build points matter most on this machine: universal frame: the wheelhead swivels ±8° and the workhead +90°, so external, internal and taper grinding run on one machine; and internal grinding attachment included across the range, from 13 mm to 250 mm bore. Structure decides how a machine ages — the specification table tells you what it does new, the build tells you what it does in year five.

What shaft sizes does the M14 Series cover?

The M14 Series grinds diameters of 5-200 / 8-320 / 8-320 / 25-500 / 30-630 mm. Ground length steps with the model size — the table on this page states each. Quote finished diameter, length and workpiece weight together: the three place the machine, and weight is the one buyers forget.

Should my parts run between centres or in a chuck on the M14 Series?

Between centres whenever several diameters must stay concentric to one axis — the centre holes are the datum, so inspect and lap them before precision work. Chucks or collets take over when there are no centres or a bore is the reference. On the M14 Series, slender work past roughly ten diameters of unsupported length wants a steady rest carrying the span.

What separates the M14 Series from the MG Series in this group?

Both sit in the universal cylindrical grinding machine group, so the decision is capacity and duty, not kind: put your largest part dimensions, material and yearly quantity against each specification table and one of the two will run out of a figure first. Send the drawing and we will name which of the two fits — including the case where the smaller machine does the job.

How soon can the M14 Series ship, and what covers it afterwards?

Standard configurations generally ship within 30 to 60 days of a confirmed order, with the date written into the contract. The M14 Series then carries a 12-month warranty on main components, handled by the plant that built it, with lifetime technical support and spare parts identified by part number at handover.
